Sonnie Barrington Mason is a native of Washington, D.C. He graduated in the Theodore
Roosevelt High School class of 1964. Afterwards, he went on to the U.S. Air Force, and to attend
Los Angeles Trade Tech College where he received his formal photographic training.

Upon Mason's return to Washington, he was hired by the District Government as a still
photographer. After spending more than 30 years in  still photography and video production for
the city, he now works as a freelance commercial / industrial photographer.

In addition to his commercial work, Sonnie Mason is an avid Fine Art photographer. His Fine Art
work is primarily in the medium of black and white photography.

During his career he has belonged to Northern Virginia Art League, the Washington Center for
Photography, the Torpedo Factory Art Center, and is currently a member of the
A.Salon artist cooperative.

Mason's art work has been included in both national and international group shows, and he has
been represented by District West Fine Art in Leesburg, Va.

Currently Mason's artwork may be seen at Parish Gallery, located at 1034 31st Street,
Georgetown, Washington, D.C. And, by appointment with the photographer.
